Babs at work!

Hi All

Regrettably we cannot hold our meeting on the evening of 5th September up at Lineham Farm. So, we will hold our usual morning meeting instead.

Martyn can however offer the evening of 12 or 19 September as alternatives when the farm will be wholly accessible, a grand tour can be followed by a bite and a pint up at the New Inn ¼ mile away.

Please can you all let me know your preferences, and we will go with the majority. I am conscious that we have a speaker on the morning of 12 September anyway so we would be meeting twice!

I look forward to hearing from you all ASAP so that we can make a decision.

BH to organise ‘Take Heart’ to speak in October
Information received about the Technology Tournament on 4 Marh 2008. The District is looking for £100 sponsorship from each Club. The Club agreed to pay this. MR to arrange with VS. Sponsorship requested from other companies. MR will circulate the sponsorship form next time
John Philip to come to talk with the club about membership on Wed 12 Sept 2007.
INVITATION TO DINNER - at the new Brasserie Blanc Restaurant – Wed 29 Aug 2007. Places limited. This is pre-opening so quite a special occasion. If you’d like to attend, please let Michelle know ASAP. Places will be come first come first served.

Rotary Foundation Event, talk by a Peace Scholar - 4 September 2007. MR has booked and confirmed places for 4 (MR + guest, CG & SG). Babs has booked her own place
District Governor Lunch - 26th October at 12.00 for 12.30 at the Golden Lion. (It is not reasonable for him to visit every Club individually and so all Leeds area Clubs are invited. Please let me know at least a week before how many there will be and some idea of their preferred lunch menu. I can advise you of that nearer the time
John Philip will come and talk about membership - 12th September
MR has booked 4 places for Rotary Conference in Southport for CG, BH (day delegates) and MR & John (but he doesn’t know it yet!!) as day and dinner delegates. If any other Rotarians wish to attend or if CG or BH want to stay for dinner let MR know
UK met up with a Rotarian from Nicaragua who is seeking support for water facilities to be provided. An enterprising gentleman who is an inspiration and worth supporting
